Lion Taigan Park in Belogorsk

Lion Taigan Park occupies an area of 30 hectares near the city of Belogorsk. It was founded in 2012 by entrepreneur Oleg Zubkov, who previously created the Yalta Zoo. More than 60 lions and tigers from different continents live in this safari park. Here you can see rare white lions from South Africa, Bengal tigers, Amur tigers.  

The landscape of the steppe Crimea is very similar to the African savanna, so the habitat conditions of African lions in Taigan Park look quite natural. The territory of the open enclosure for lions in Taigan Park reaches 20 hectares. Bridges on stilts have been built over it, where tourists can walk and observe lions in their natural habitat.  

In addition to lions and tigers, there is a zoo in Taigan Park, where various animals live: giraffes, antelopes, monkeys, bison, yaks and many others. There are also many birds, including black vultures, eagles and other birds of prey. 

If you come to the Taigan Lions Park on a hot summer day, it will be difficult to see the lions in the enclosure. During the day, lions usually hide from the heat in the shade of trees or fences. For animal lovers, the most interesting event in Taigan Park is the feeding of lions. This fascinating procedure takes place every day at 10 am. A lot of people always gather on the platforms, and the lions come here in whole prides. Employees of the Taigan Park throw pieces of meat to the lions directly from the platforms.

In the far part of the Taigan Park there is a Ferris wheel from which tourists can see the entire territory of the enclosure for lions, and if they are lucky, then the predators themselves wandering among the trees. There is a hotel near the entrance to Taigan Park, as well as a park area with various installations and sculptures. The hotel is built for visitors who want to watch the lions in the evening or at night. At this time, the lions come out of their hiding places, where they hide in the hot daytime and walk around the enclosure.
