The Museum of Modern Art of the Vologda Museum-Reserve is located in the Southwest Tower of the Vologda Kremlin. It hosts temporary exhibitions of modern masters. Here you can see not only works of art, but also objects of folk crafts.

The southwest tower of the Vologda Kremlin was built in the 18th century. It was used as a carriage house, as well as a hayloft. The tower has such a large size, since large rooms were required for storing hay. The halls of the tower can accommodate up to 150 participants of seminars and conferences.

During visits to the tower, you can see paintings by contemporary artists, which are painted on the plots of historical events related to Vologda. There are also paintings with views of Vologda and northern nature.
