Rodopsky Boulevard is located in the historical center of Makhachkala near the City Beach. Together with Suleiman Stalsky Boulevard, it is a park area. Sometimes Rodopsky Boulevard is called the Embankment of Makhachkala, but it is separated from the sea by a railway.
Rodopsky Boulevard begins near the Kumyk Theater of Alim Salavatov and stretches for 800 meters to the Avar Drama Theater of Gamzat Tsadasy. In the middle part, near the Rodopsky Boulevard, there is a City garden. This is a small but cozy city park. Previously, there was a Market square on this place.
In 1937, the famous Dagestani poet Suleiman Stalsky was buried on Rodopsky Boulevard. A monument was erected over his grave. In 2014, the part of Rodopsky Boulevard, which is located between the City Garden and the Tsadasa Theater, was renamed Suleiman Stalsky Boulevard.
The city authorities have created a beautiful art space on Rodopsky Boulevard. There are many different cafes here. Residents of Makhachkala like to come here to spend time near the sea. At the end of June, the water in the Caspian Sea warms up and the swimming season begins. An underground passage leads to the City Beach from Rodopsky Boulevard.
