Lake Seliger is located in the west of the Tver region. It has a glacial origin, so the coastline of Seliger resembles Ladoga skerries with a large number of bays, channels and islands. Seliger is more correctly called not a lake, but a system of lakes. Its northern shore is located on the territory of the Valday National Park with a special nature protection regime.
