Seliger Palace Hotel is located in a picturesque location, on the north-western shore of Lake Seliger. It is located in the historical building of the noble estate, which the Tolstoy landowners built in the 18th century. It is located on a hill near the village of New Yeltsy.
Most tourists associate recreation on Lake Seliger with fishing, hiking and camping. However, in some places of Seliger, historical attractions have also been preserved. A few years ago it was reconstructed and a hotel was opened here. Free access to the hotel area is closed, but it is possible to get there, even if you do not live in the hotel.
The territory of the Tolstoy Estate, where the Seliger Palace Hotel is now located, is 42 hectares. It is located on the peninsula. From the north, the estate is bounded by the Yeletsky Ples Strait, and from the south by a 1.5-kilometer bay. The main recreational area of the hotel is located on the shore of the southern bay. There is a beach, a boat station, a cafe, gazebos for picnics, a playground. The shore of the lake is overgrown with reeds. There are water lilies in many places.
