The narzan springs in the Irik-Chat river gorge are located at the beginning of the route. This is a source with a small water debit, where you can get a bottle of drinking water, but no more. However, the surrounding nature is so beautiful that it makes the narzan spring an interesting attraction of the gorge. We need to make a stop here.

It takes almost a whole day to walk along the Irik-Chat River gorge, but there is no need to worry about the availability of water in the gorge. Numerous streams flow down from the surrounding slopes, so it will be possible to fill a bottle with water in many places.

The initial stage of climbing in the gorge is the most difficult, as you need to climb a steep slope to a cliff above the canyon of the Irik-Chat River. Here it flows into the Baksan Gorge and then flows into the Baksan River. The climb will be 300 meters for a fairly short distance.

When you reach a flat plateau, the path will stretch along the gorge of the Irik-Chat River. At the beginning of this trail you will see a small wooden sign "To the narzanes". A few meters below there is a wooden decking extending for several tens of meters. There are lush bushes and trees along it, different from those that grow in the gorge. There are many deciduous trees, various flowers and thorns.

When you walk to the narzan spring, you will see that the entire land on the slope of the Irik-Chat river gorge is colored red due to the iron oxide contained in the mineral water. The narzan spring has natural carbonation and a pleasant taste, but the water is not stored for a long time. After a few minutes in the bottle, it will lose its properties, so it is better to drink it on the spot, admiring the beauty of the surrounding landscapes.
