South-West Germany attractions

On the Geo Meridian online travel guide ( the region "South-West Germany" consists of 5 lands that are located in the Southern part of the former FRG (Western Germany). The most beautiful cities in this region are Munich, Nuremberg, Regensburg, and Heidelberg. There are also many small towns that are very interesting to visit.

South-West Germany includes the lands: Hesse (Wiesbaden), Rhineland-Palatinate (Mainz), Saarland (Saarbrücken), Baden-Württemberg (Stuttgart), Bavaria (Munich).

The most interesting place for tourists is Bavaria. There are many historical sites in Munich and the famous Oktoberfest is held here. To the South of the city there are famous castles, as well as mountain resorts. It is interesting to visit both in winter and summer.

The valleys of the Rhineland-Palatinate region offer excellent opportunities for gastronomic tourism. In Baden-Württemberg, you can visit medical resorts (Baden-Baden, Wiesbaden) and see Romanesque architecture in cities. In the Middle Rhine Valley from Koblenz to Bonn, you can see a large number of ancient fortresses and castles.
