The Tsey Alpine Camp is located at the foot of Mount Monk among huge pine trees. At this point, the rivers Tseydon and Skazdon merge, closing the famous horseshoe of the Tsey Gorge. The alpine camp is a complex of buildings with hotel rooms, a cafe and a shop. For decades, most tourists have stayed at the Tsey Alpine Camp.
The Tsey Alpine camp was sung in the songs of the famous singer Yuri Vizbor. He loved mountaineering and his songs, as well as Vysotsky`s songs, were sung around the campfires by many generations of Soviet people.
The lines from Yuri Vizbor`s song "Tsey Waltz" were written in 1984:
These ridges promised us both joy and trouble,

Such romance attracted thousands of young people to the Tsey Gorge. There were interesting mountain routes here, but the tourist infrastructure was at a minimum level at that time. Many of them had to live in tents, and a room in the guest house could only be rented in the Tsey Alpine Camp.
Nowadays, the necessary infrastructure has been formed in the Tsey Gorge, hotels have appeared. There are Orbita, Torpedo and Skazka hotels near the chairlift station. 2 kilometers down the gorge there are hotels Victoria and Vertical. These are comfortable hotels, they have cafes.
The buildings of Tsey Alpine Camp are located on a large territory in a pine forest. There is a sauna, a cafe, and a huge playground with benches and a stage where tourists sing guitar songs under the pines. In the 1980s, Yuri Vizbor also sang his songs here.
As for accommodation, the conditions in the Tsey Alpine Camp can be called Spartan. Rooms without toilet are located in the upper building. There is a shower and toilet on the floor. There are rooms with toilet in the lower building, but they are quite modest. In general, if you are a lover of comfortable living, it is better to consider hotels in the neighborhood. If you are a fan of Visbor`s songs, and the requirements for the hotel are relatively low, then the Tsey Alpine Camp is an ideal option.
