The resort village of Vityazevo is a suburb of Anapa. It is located 15 kilometers from the center of Anapa. Anapa and Vityazevo are connected by a long Pioneer Avenue that stretches along the sandy beach. There is a small water park in Vityazevo, many hotels, but the main attraction is the huge sand dunes.
In Soviet times, Anapa became a famous children`s resort, since only here on the Black Sea coast the beaches are covered not with pebbles, but with golden sand. This is due to several millennia ago the Kuban River flowed into the Black Sea. The source is located on the northern slope of Mount Elbrus, and the waters of the river carried a huge volume of sand to these places. It contains quartz. Sunbathing on quartz sand is very useful, especially for children, so some tourists prefer to sunbathe in the dunes rather than on the beaches.
Over the past 10 years, Vityazevo has turned from a quiet suburb of Anapa into a developed resort where tourists can relax without leaving its borders. Dozens of private hotels have been built here, there is a park with children`s attractions Byzantium, the Olympia water park, the Vityazevo Luna Park, the zoo and many other places where you can have a good time.
The main pedestrian street is called Paralia Boulevard. Its length is 1 km. It stretches from Southern Avenue to the Central Beach. The official name of Paralia Boulevard is Chernomorskaya Street. However, the Vityazevo city authorities are developing an ancient Greek theme in the city, so the pedestrian zone was named Paralia. Translated from Greek, "Paralia" means "Embankment".
On the left side of the Central Beach is Vityaz Beach. This beach is located near the Olympia Water Park. Its buildings and attractions are built in the ancient Greek style. Next is the Pearl of Russia Beach. It is named after the Pearl of Russia children`s sanatorium, which is located here. This beach is closed for swimming, only children from the sanatorium swim here.
To the right of the Central Beach there is the Beach of the Dune sanatorium, then Atlantic Beach and Venus Beach. The farthest from the pier is Torguga Beach, which is considered a youth beach. There are many bars right on the sea. All the buildings of Torguga Beach are made like pirate huts on the islands. In the evening, youth discos and themed parties are held on Tortuga Beach.
Sand dunes stretch for 2 kilometers from the Vityazevsky estuary south to the village of Dzhemete. Their height reaches 15 meters. On average, sand dunes are located 100 meters from the sea shore, but in some places this distance is longer. On the north side of the village on the beaches of Dune and Tortuga, the width of the sandy strip of beaches reaches almost 200 meters.
All beaches in the vicinity of Vityazevo are shallow, so in July and August, green kamka algae may appear in the water. It is not dangerous for the skin, however, if there are a lot of these algae in the water, it creates emotional discomfort. This is a real problem in Anapa, but if kamka appears in Vityazevo, it is in very small quantities.
The most popular locations for excursions from Vityazevo are located in the vicinity of Anapa. The famous Cypress Lake is located in the Village of Sukko, where marsh cypresses grow in the water. If you drive a little further to the village of Big Utrish, then you can visit the Utrish Nature Reserve, as well as the Utrish Dolphinarium.
If you are a fan of water sports, then go to the Bugaz spit. It is located 30 km north of Vityazevo. There is clean water here, the spit beach is covered with quartz sand, so many people come here to swim from Anapa or Vityazevo. There is no problem with the kamka algae here. The wind blows almost constantly on Bugaz Spit, so it has become a center for kitesurfing and windsurfing.
