The bridge acquired its modern appearance in 2003, when a large-scale reconstruction was completed as part of the project to renovate the Funan River embankments.
Today, Anshun Bridge is a two-story structure in the classical Chinese style with pavilions and covered galleries. It is made of stone and wood, decorated with carved ornaments depicting plums, orchids, bamboo, and chrysanthemums. On both sides of the bridge are installed statues of mythical water creatures, which, according to ancient beliefs, are meant to protect against floods.
