IFS Shopping Center (Chengdu International Finance Square) is not just a place for shopping, but a true architectural and cultural landmark that has become a symbol of modern Chengdu. Located in the very center of the city, at the intersection of Hongxing and Dasi Streets in the Chunxi area, this grand complex is rightfully considered the main center of fashion, entertainment, and luxury living in the capital of Sichuan.

Scale and Architecture

IFS is a huge urban complex covering an area of more than 760,000 square meters. It consists of four skyscrapers: two 50-story towers reaching 248 meters in height, the 48-story Niccolo Hotel, and a 46-story residential complex.

The shopping gallery itself occupies eight floors and 210,000 square meters, housing more than 600 stores of global brands. Here you will find such luxury brands as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Armani, as well as the Lane Crawford department store. In 2025, IFS opened a new flagship Ralph Lauren store with an exclusive Ralph`s Coffee cafe, where you can try a special "Chengdu Black Sesame Latte."

The Main Star — Panda "I Am Here"

The main attraction of IFS and one of Chengdu`s most recognizable symbols is the giant panda sculpture "I Am Here" by American artist Lawrence Argent. This 15-meter steel structure depicts a panda seemingly climbing up the wall of the building, trying to reach the roof. The sculpture has become a true "internet phenomenon" and a must-visit spot for tourists.

Two Angles — Two Impressions

Tourists have two opportunities to take photos with Chengdu`s main panda:

View from below: Standing on Hongxing Street in front of the IFS facade, you can take the famous photo where the giant panda seems to loom over passersby. This is the most popular angle: in the photos you can see the panda climbing up the wall, with its hind legs and rear "hanging" above people`s heads. Tourists often use a wide-angle lens to capture both the human figure and the entire 15-meter structure.

View from above: To meet the panda "face to face," you need to go up to the seventh floor of the shopping center, where the open-air "Sculpture Gardens" observation deck is located. There the panda "peeks out" from the edge of the roof — you can take a selfie or a funny photo where you touch its huge head or "support" its paw. A queue often forms on the observation deck of those wanting to get the perfect shot. Here, in the "Sculpture Gardens," there are cozy cafes, including a popular establishment with panda-themed items on the menu.

Practical Information

IFS Shopping Center is located right at Chunxi Road metro station on lines 2 and 3. Store opening hours are from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Entry to the observation deck on the 7th floor is free. Inside the complex, you can find "I Am Here" signs or follow the giant panda paw prints on the floor that lead to the elevators going up.

IFS Shopping Center is the ideal place to feel the pulse of modern Chengdu, go shopping, and take the main photo as a souvenir of the city of pandas. Whether you come for shopping, impressions, or just for the perfect shot, IFS will leave you with the brightest memories of the capital of Sichuan.
