The Great Valdai Trail art object is located on the 7th kilometer of the trail. The length of the trail is 59 kilometers, and it is planned for a 5-day hiking trip with overnight stays in tents at equipped camps. The entire route passes through the territory of the Valdai National Park.
The Great Valdai trail begins on the ring road in the city of Valdai, but the first 7 kilometers go through the forest near the villages. Then the trail goes to the northern shore of Lake Berezovo. This is the first lake on the way of the hiking route, then there will be many such lakes, rivers and streams.
After passing Lake Berezovo, tourists should go to the paved road south of the village of Korotsko and walk along it to the south 300 meters. There, near the turn off to Lake Boroe, the art object Great Valdai Trail is installed. It is a symbol of the longest hiking route in Central Russia.
Some tourists start their hiking trip from this art object. From there, the trail passes only in the protected area of the Valdai National Park. Near the art object, a wooden flooring was made for several hundred meters, as the trail passes through a dense spruce forest, where the ground is covered with moss.
The Chapel of St. Paraskeva Friday is 800 meters from the art object. It was built near the Holy Spring. Further 3 kilometers away is the shore of Lake Nakhodno and the first stop on the Great Valdai trail.
