The Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari is the largest Franciscan church in the city and one of the greatest treasure houses of Renaissance art. If you are used to Venice hiding its finest treasures behind sumptuous façades, the Frari will surprise you with the opposite: outside it is a modest brick mass, but inside you will find masterpieces by Titian, Bellini and Donatello.
