Gallerie dell`Accademia

The Gallerie dell`Accademia is the main art museum of Venice and holds the most significant collection of Venetian painting from the 14th to the 18th century in the world. It is located in the Dorsoduro district, on the southern bank of the Grand Canal, opposite the Accademia Bridge. In the museum`s thirty-seven halls, a complete panorama of the development of the Venetian school is presented: from Byzantine icons to the brilliant Renaissance and the refined 18th century.
