The pedestrian bridge over the beaver dam is located 1.2 kilometers from the village of Myslovichi, near the shore of Lake Velje. It passes over a swampy area where beavers once built a dam, but now there is practically nothing left of it. Tree trunks and sticks are visible nearby, but the dam itself is no longer there.

In the Valdai National Park there are hundreds of small lakes with channels between them, many places are swampy. It has become an ideal habitat for beavers. In the early 1960s, several dozen individuals of beavers were brought from Belarus and settled in the national park. Since then, they have settled throughout the territory, and now several thousand individuals of beavers live on the Valdai upland.

There was one of the beaver dams near the village of Myslovichi. At this point there is a descent from Mount Ryzhokha to Lake Velje. Ecologists, laying the route of the Great Valdai Trail, designed a fairly long (about 50 meters) wooden pedestrian bridge that passed over the Beaver dam. Perhaps the beavers were not happy about the appearance of people in this place, which used to be difficult for people to reach, so they moved to other streams.
