Castelvecchio Castle (Castelvecchio) — the "Old Castle" — is the main medieval fortress of Verona and one of the most significant military structures of the Scaliger dynasty, which ruled the city in the 14th century. It is located on the bank of the Adige River, a few minutes` walk from the Arena and the historic center.
