Back

During the day, the Central Beach of Kemer is a place for swimming, and in the evening, it becomes the epicenter of resort life. It stretches for almost 3.5 kilometers from the "Türkiz" yacht marina towards the neighboring town of Göynük. A narrow strip of multi-colored pebbles is sandwiched between the turquoise water and the lively promenade. From the west, the sea is protected from the winds by the majestic Taurus Mountains, making it calm and comfortable for swimming.

The beach is covered with multi-colored rounded pebbles — not just gray, but colored by nature in brown, beige, greenish, and gray-blue tones, which makes the Kemer coastline incredibly picturesque.

Some hotels bring sand to their sections of Kemer Beach, but at the water`s edge, pebbles still begin. This has a big advantage: no matter how many people swim in the sea, the water remains so crystal clear that you can see every pebble on the bottom even at a depth of several meters.

The entrance to the sea along the entire beach is shallow, but the depth increases quite quickly — just a few meters from the shore, it becomes deep, which is ideal for confident adult swimmers and young people. Families with small children should be cautious.

Infrastructure of Kemer Beach: Amenities for Everyone

The infrastructure of the Central Beach is organized according to the classic Turkish scheme. Most of the coastline is divided among hotels that take care of the cleanliness and landscaping of their sections. The most comfortable and safe areas with developed infrastructure are awarded the prestigious international "Blue Flag."

Access to any beach is free — even if you are not a guest of a particular hotel, you can rent a sunbed or lay out your towel. However, during the high season, hotel sunbeds quickly fill up with guests, and there may not be enough free space for your own mat. There is a solution: municipal sections of the beach, where there is also sunbed rental and all the necessary infrastructure.
At Kemer Central Beach, there are free toilets, freshwater showers, changing rooms, sunbed and umbrella rental points, as well as lifeguard posts on duty from 9:00 AM to 5:30–7:00 PM.

Due to the relatively narrow width of the beach, it often only accommodates a few rows of sunbeds placed almost right next to the water. Therefore, it is recommended to come early, before 10:00 AM, to get a good spot.

One of the municipal beaches, located near the Crystal Deluxe Kemer hotel, is particularly attractive because a small, well-kept park adjoins the shore — an excellent place for a walk in the shade after swimming.

Water and Land Entertainment

Kemer Central Beach offers a huge selection of water activities for every taste: riding "bananas," donuts, and catamarans, jet skis and scooters, paragliding, diving, sea excursions, and fishing.

In the southern part of Kemer Beach is the harbor, from where excursion boats depart — from modest boats to graceful yachts and impressive pirate schooners. Some excursions include swimming in the open sea or sea fishing.

The harbor houses several diving centers offering introductory courses for children from 12 years old and adults. In the Göynük area, there are underwater caves; near Kiriş, the marine fauna is quite rich; and closer to Çamyuva, you can see sunken ships.

Hotels along Kemer Central Beach

Many hotels of various levels are lined up along the Central Beach — from budget to luxurious. This is one of Kemer`s main advantages: the beaches start right next to the hotel grounds, and you don`t need to cross a highway to get to the sea.

Kemer Dream Hotel is located in the center of Kemer, just 300 meters from the sea. The path to the beach goes through a small, well-kept park with a fountain and a mini zoo, which is especially popular with families with children.

Armas Gul Beach is an all-inclusive hotel located in the center of Kemer on Atatürk Street. Operating since 2024, it offers guests its own beach with sunbeds, umbrellas, and a beach bar.

Ozkaymak Marina Hotel is located in the very center of Kemer, near the promenade and the yacht marina, 100 meters from its own sand-and-pebble beach. The hotel has a "Blue Flag" certification, confirming the high quality of the beach and water.

Parks and Green Spaces

In addition to beach relaxation, there are several green areas along Kemer Central Beach, ideal for walking and relaxing in the shade.

Moonlight Park is one of the main attractions of Kemer, located behind the yacht marina in a quiet bay. The park is home to the famous sandy beach of the same name and is renowned for its beauty, developed infrastructure, and picturesque promenades with cafes, boutiques, and playgrounds.

The small park near the Crystal Deluxe Kemer hotel adjoins the municipal beach next to this hotel. Here you can stroll in the shade of the trees, relax on benches, and enjoy the coolness after a hot day at the beach.

Practical Tips

The best time to visit Kemer Central Beach is May-June and September-October, when there are no sweltering heat and the beaches are less crowded. During the peak season, come to the beach before 10:00 AM to get a good spot. Bring special swimming shoes — the pebbly bottom requires protection. For a free beach day, look for the municipal sections — they exist and are well-equipped.

Kemer Central Beach is the ideal place for those who want to be in the heart of resort life, enjoy the clean sea, use the developed infrastructure, and have all the necessary entertainment at hand. And the majestic Taurus Mountains descending right to the sea create an unforgettable landscape that makes tourists return to Kemer again.
