Cyclops Cave in Cyprus is located 700 meters east of Konnos Bay Beach in Kavo Greco National park. If you come here to swim, then a walk to this cave along the picturesque rocky coast will be very interesting. There are many small secluded places in the middle of the volcanic rock.

The name "Cyclops Cave" is fictional. The Cyclops Polyphemus described in Homer`s Odyssey did not live here. Cyprus is located at a far distance from the route that Odysseus sailed from Troy to his native Ithaca. The real Cyclops cave is located on the small island of Jura, which is part of the Lesser Sporadic Islands. The locality described in the Odyssey corresponds very precisely to the island of Jura. There is also the Cyclops Cave, which is still closed to tourists, despite the protests of local travel agencies.

There are two paths to the Cyclops cave on Konnos Bay: directly by the sea from Konnos Beach or from the village where Konnos Avenue passes. Cyclops cave has two entrances and its area reaches 100 m2. It is located at the top of the cliff, at an altitude of 15 meters above sea level. In the center of the cave is a natural column that supports the vault.
