Ivan Poddubny Park is located in the central part of the residential development of Yeysk, at the base of the Yeysk Spit. The Park occupies an area of 20 hectares and is a favorite vacation spot for locals, as well as tourists who come to Yeysk with young children.
The Park is named after one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, Ivan Poddubny. From 1927 to 1949 he lived in Yeysk. Grateful residents in 1965 named the main park of the city after him. In 1971, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great wrestler, a Memorial Museum of Ivan Poddubny was built in the park. A sculpture of Ivan Poddubny is installed near the Museum, and his grave is located nearby. The residents of Yeysk greatly honor their great countryman.
The Park in the center of Yeysk was founded in 1898. At first it was a garden with walking paths. In Soviet times, children`s attractions appeared here. There are many of them in the park now.
There are three Ferris wheels installed in different parts of Yeysk, and the largest one is located in Ivan Poddubny Park. In addition to attractions in Poddubny Park there is a circus, a zoo, as well as places for active sports: a rope park, a game center for children of Chunga-Changa.
More than 200 species of plants and trees grow in the park. There is a beautiful sycamore alley, many flower beds. People come here in the evening to take a walk and have dinner in a cafe. In the evenings, music concerts are held in Poddubny Park.
