The Jamig Mosque is the main Muslim temple of Elabuga. It was built in 1992, not far from the Devil`s Hollfort, where the fortress of Volga Bulgaria was located in the 10th century. The minaret of the Jamig mosque rises 57 meters and is visible from many parts of the city. The mosque itself is low, but the diameter of the dome reaches 18 meters.

The Jamig Mosque was built by architect Farid Galiyev. The exterior is decorated with red and beige bricks. Tile patterns are laid out on the minaret. The interior of the mosque is quite strict. Under the dome you can see a beautiful chandelier consisting of thousands of beads. It was made for the mosque at the Saratov Glass Factory. The carpet on the floor was sewn by weavers in the Leninabad district of Tajikistan.
