Kavo Greco National Park is located on the south-eastern coast of the island of Cyprus. From the north and west of the Park Kavo Greco are located Ayia Napa and Protaras, the most famous resort area for beach holidays in Cyprus. Almost all vacationers in these resorts go to the Cavo Greco Park on excursions.
The territory of the Kavo Greco National Park begins at Konnos Bay in the north (from the Protaras side), and in the area of Sea caves in the west (from Ayia Napa side). Its area is more than 380 hectares. The ideal option for an excursion to Kavo Greco is a trip between the attractions of the Park in a rented car. You can stay in all the places you like. In some of them you can swim, in others people spend time to watch the sunset.
The distance between the attractions of Cavo Greco is no more than 5-10 kilometers, so the travel time will be very short. Many even rent Quad bikes or buggies, which makes trips on the roads of Cavo Greco even more interesting. But keep in mind that some roads in the Park are unpaved, so driving in a group of open buggies that raise clouds of dust can cause some inconvenience.
The south-eastern part of the island of Cyprus, where the Kavo Greco Park is located, rocky. The height of the coastal rocks, which are beaten by the sea surf, on average reaches 10-15 meters. Over time, sea waves and wind created numerous caves in these rocks, which became the main attractions of Cape Greco.
There are "Sea Caves" on the southern shore of Kavo Greco. This is a small Bay with azure water, surrounded by a rocky shore. On the right side, you can go down to the caves. The cave has a grotto facing the Bay. Some people jump from the high Bank and swim in this Bay.
Next to the caves (2 kilometers away) is a small mountain with a height of 95 meters. This is Cape Greco Viewpoint. There is a Peace Monument on it. From the road side, the entrance to it is gentle, and from the sea side - a rocky cliff. People usually come here in the evening to watch the sunset.
On the south-eastern side, there are more attractions in the Kavo Greco Park. To the south is located the Bridge of Lovers. Ayia Napa also has a Bridge of Lovers, but there it is a beautiful arch. In this place you can see a full-fledged bridge over a small Bay. Sometimes it is also called the Bridge of Sinners. Further south, near the military base, there is a Blue Lagoon.
500 meters to the north from Bridge of Lovers is located the beautiful chapel of Agios Anargiroi. It is built in the traditional Greek blue-and-white style above the cave where, according to legend, the Holy healers Kosma and Damian stayed during their stay in Cyprus.
1.5 km north of the chapel is the main gem of the Kavo Greco Park - Konnos Bay with its famous Konnos beach. Many people come to this Bay on ships to swim in the Azure water. The Cyclops Cave is located near Konnos beach.
