Back

In the center of Kemer, at the intersection of the resort`s two main arteries — Atatürk Boulevard and Dörtyol Boulevard — stands one of the city`s most recognizable landmarks: the White Clock Tower. This 35-meter beauty made of white stone, crowned with an elegant spire, welcomes guests to the resort and sees them off, becoming a permanent landmark for thousands of tourists.

Despite its relative youth — the tower was built in 2005–2006 — it has managed to become a true symbol of Kemer, its calling card, and a popular meeting place. Locals arrange dates here, tourists gather at its base before walks, and in the evening, the tower is beautifully illuminated, creating a romantic atmosphere.

History of the Kemer Clock Tower`s Creation

The Clock Tower was built in 2006 according to the design of architect Selda Ergin. The height of the structure, including the spire, reaches 35–38 meters, making it noticeable from afar.

According to guidebook authors, this tower became a kind of "curtsy towards foreign tourists," incorporating architectural features from different European countries while retaining its own originality. It has organically blended into the resort`s landscape and does not betray its status as a "new build" in any way.

Kemer Tower Restaurant: Gastronomy at Height

The main feature of the Clock Tower is the restaurant located at a height of 13 meters. Here, tourists are not just offered a chance to have a snack, but a true gastronomic experience with a panoramic view. The restaurant opened in 2011 and has enjoyed constant popularity ever since.

The menu features dishes of both local and international cuisine, as well as a separate vegetarian menu. Visitors can settle right on the observation deck-terrace and enjoy their meal while admiring the views.

An important tip: you won`t be able to simply go up to take a few photos — the hospitable Turks will certainly offer you coffee or a glass of wine. During the peak tourist season, it`s best to book a table at the restaurant in advance, especially for the evening.

It is said that the restaurant terrace has become a favorite spot for romantic proposals — young men regularly propose to their beloved here, and the place is perfect for both company gatherings and romantic dinners for two.

Observation Deck at the Kemer Clock Tower

From the Clock Tower`s observation deck, stunning views open up in all directions. To the north, the majestic Taurus Mountains and the minarets of the Huzur Mosque come into view. To the south, you can admire the hotels stretching towards the coast. To the east and west, the city`s main streets — Atatürk Boulevard and Dörtyol Boulevard — stretch out with their bustling traffic and shop windows. To the northeast, at the foot of the tower, the famous dancing fountains are in operation.

It is especially beautiful here at sunset, when the last rays of the sun paint the mountains in golden tones, and the tower itself lights up with its evening illumination.

Republic Square: The Heart of Resort Life

The Clock Tower stands on Republic Square, which is the true center of attraction for all guests of Kemer. It is always crowded and lively here. The dancing fountains at the foot of the tower are an attraction in themselves. The water jets, shimmering to music and changing colors, create a festive mood and provide coolness on a hot day.

Next to the Kemer Clock Tower stands a monument to Atatürk, depicting the first President of Turkey in his later years, releasing a dove of peace. Phrases about the importance of world peace are inscribed here in several languages, including Russian. This place is especially revered by locals.

Eastern Bazaar: Aromas and Colors

Every Tuesday, a real eastern bazaar unfolds near the Clock Tower, featuring traditional spices, fruits, vegetables, and products of local artisans. Here you can find the same things as in the surrounding shops, but a little cheaper, and for tourists, it`s a great opportunity to haggle to their heart`s content with local traders.

Practical Information

The Clock Tower is located in the very center of Kemer; just 50 meters from it is the final stop for dolmuşes — small buses that run not only around the city but also to the surrounding resorts. You can get there by buses No. KA07 or TA08 to the Dörtyol Blv-1 stop, or by bus No. TA08 to Kemer Atatürk Blv-9.

To the right of the tower is a taxi stand, from where you can reach the main tourist areas of the resort in 15 minutes.
If you are traveling by rental car, the Clock Tower will be an excellent landmark — follow Dörtyol Boulevard towards the embankment to the intersection with Atatürk Boulevard.

Access to the observation deck of the Kemer Clock Tower is only possible when visiting the restaurant. Prices at the Kemer Tower restaurant, according to tourist reviews, are not too high compared to the eateries on the square below. During the peak season, it`s better to book a table for the evening in advance.

The Kemer Clock Tower is not just a landmark, but a symbol of Kemer. Here you can not only enjoy the beauty of the city and the coolness of the fountains but also have a delicious dinner while admiring the panorama of the Taurus Mountains and the coast. It is the place where an introduction to Kemer begins.
