The Museum and Exhibition Center on Sovetskaya Street is a modern and spacious complex for art exhibitions and art events. The building of the Museum and Exhibition center was first built to house the collection of the Museum of the First Soviet (Council), but later transferred the premises for various events.  The Museum of the First Council remained in the neighboring building.

The museum and exhibition center on Sovetskaya Street has several large exhibition halls, as well as an auditorium for film screenings and various events. Previously, here you could see the diorama "Rally of Ivano-Voznesensky workers on the Talka River, the Birth of the First Soviet (Council)". This monumental canvas measuring 15 meters in height and 50 meters in length occupied almost all the exhibition areas. Subsequently, this exposition was removed.

Now the Ivanovo Museum and Exhibition Center hosts the “Mirror Film Festival” dedicated to Tarkovsky`s work, as well as the “First Avant-Garde Factory” festival. The large hall houses an exhibition dedicated to the work of the great Russian film director Andrey Tarkovsky. Based on photographs and memoirs of contemporaries, you can imagine how his masterpieces were created: Mirror, Solaris, Stalker, Andrey Rublev and other films.

Andrey Tarkovsky was born in the Ivanovo region, in the village of Zavrazhye. This small village is located on the banks of the Volga River near the town of Yuryevets, so the Mirror Film Festival was sometimes held not only in Ivanovo, but also in Yuryevets.
