Narzan Valley near Kislovodsk is one of the famous balneological complexes on the Kislovodsk - Dzhily-Su Road. There are several narzan springs of various types in the Khasaut River gorge. Some of them contain a lot of iron, in others the water is absolutely transparent. Water from the springs can be used for medicinal purposes.
The Narzan Valley Balneological Complex is divided into two recreational zones. The main area is near mineral springs. They are located not far from each other. Most sources have a small debit, water from them can be collected from small pipes. Some narzan springs contain a lot of iron, which turns the stones red.
The main source No. 7 is made in the form of a well, where water comes to the surface in a powerful stream. Together with the water, carbon dioxide comes to the surface, which constantly bubbles. In this spring, the water looks like boiling.
Next to the drinking springs there are three pools that are filled with mineral water from different sources. One of them is filled with ferruginous water, so the water in it has a reddish color. The other two pools are filled with waters from Silver Springs, so the water in them is transparent. There are sun loungers around the pool area, which creates the atmosphere of a resort. Taking mineral baths is possible according to a schedule, since changing the water takes quite a long time.
There is a cafe near the springs where you can taste delicious local cuisine. They are designed for receptions of large groups. A watchtower has been built near the cafe. Such towers were built by mountaineers to protect their villages. There is souvenir shop nearby.
A large part of the Narzan Valley balneological complex is occupied by a Park. It is located in a narrow mountain gorge and stretches along the Khasaut riverbed. The ecological trail starts near the parking lot and stretches for 2.5 kilometers. Guest houses have been built in two places, so you can visit the Narzan Valley not only with short excursions from Kislovodsk, but also live here for several days.
There is a sanatorium in Kislovodsk, which has a similar name: Narzan Valley. It is located in the center of Kislovodsk and is not related to the Narzan Valley balneological complex, which is located in the Khasaut River gorge.
