Uffizi Gallery

The Uffizi Gallery is located in Florence, in a building constructed in the 16th century to a design by Giorgio Vasari; together with the Pitti Palace it forms a single museum complex. It is one of the greatest collections of Italian and European art, whose history is inextricably linked to the Medici dynasty — first as a ducal chancellery, then as the private collection of the rulers of Tuscany, and finally as a public museum open to all.
