The valley of the Aktry River passes between the Aktry Intermediate Base and the Mountaineering Camp. This valley is a very beautiful protected area of the Altay nature. The streams of the Aktry River flow along a wide valley, and the mountain slopes are strewn with flowering plants all summer long.

At the Intermediate Base, you can always find drivers on specially prepared off-road vehicles. For ordinary off-road vehicles, the road in the Aktry Valley is impassable. You can get to the Mountaineering Camp by car of local drivers, but it is much better to arrange for them to take your things, and walk along the Aktry Valley on foot.

The distance from the Intermediate Base to the Mountaineering Camp Aktry is 8.5 km. The climb is 370 meters, but it is smoothly distributed over the entire distance, so the walk will be pleasant even for unprepared tourists.

It is important to remember that if it rained recently in these places, the road in many places can turn into liquid mud, which is very difficult to get around. Thus, a pleasant walk will turn into a difficult test.

The first 5 kilometers from the Intermediate Base to a small lake, the trail goes through a dense mixed forest. There are no beautiful views here, although there are sometimes interesting places in the deep forest. For example, trees growing on rocks. This segment is most difficult for hikers if it has been raining recently.

From a small lake to the Aktry Mountaineering Camp, the road goes 4 kilometers through an open valley. The riverbed is squeezed between the mountain slopes and in the distance you can see the Glaciers of Aktry. The width of the valley is about 1 kilometer. Here is an untouched protected corner of the Altay nature. The beauty of the Aktry Valley will not leave anyone indifferent.

In many places near the trail, you can see thickets of Kuril tea. There are a lot of rare plants listed in the Red Book growing in the closed valley. On many pines, you can see thickets of moss. Large anthills are visible along the path in many places.
