The Water World water park is one of the largest themed water parks in Europe. The attractions are named after the heroes of the legends and myths of ancient Greece and are stylized in the Greek style. The water park is located 8 kilometers west of the center of Ayia Napa.
The Water World Water Park was opened in 1996. There are attractions for all ages, from the calm to the most extreme. Extreme attractions in the Water World park include "Zeus". There you feel a fall down a steep chute from a height of 75 meters. At the "Fall of Icarus" attraction, you first descend on an inflatable circle down a steep slope, and then soar up on a high mountain. Also very interesting are the slides Fall to Atlantis, the Chariot of Apollo, the labyrinth of the Minotaur, the Feat of Hercules.
The Water World Water park has many attractions for small children and for active games for children over 8-10 years old. In the Poseidon Pool, sea waves start every 20 minutes. Families usually come to the park for most of the day. There are many cafes and areas with sun beds. The park is open from 10 am to 6 pm.
There are other attractions near the Water World Water Park. A kilometer away is one of the best beaches in Cyprus – Makronissos beach. It is small, but here the crystal clear water is azure in color. Near the beach is a small archaeological area of the ancient tombs of Makronissos. Also near the water park on the coast is the Church of St. Thekla and the ancient Cave of St. Thekla.
