The village of Barangol in the last two decades has become a resort where many tourists come to relax. It is a convenient starting point for many routes through the Altay Mountains. The Barangol is located on the bank of the Katun River. The current of the river in this place is quite fast.

The village of Barangol is located 50 kilometers from Gorno-Altaysk. Many hotels of different levels have been built along the Chuya Highway in the village. There are both inexpensive guesthouses and country clubs offering a full range of entertainment and services. There is a pedestrian bridge across the Katun River in Barangol.

On both sides of this bridge is the territory of the Tsar’s Hunting Hotel. On the right bank, there is a restaurant, a dance floor, billiards, karaoke, swimming pools. During the summer season, entertainment programs are regularly held here, which attract a lot of people to the Barangol.

On the right bank, there is a small berth for high-speed motor boats. You can ride them along the shavers of the rapid Katun current. There are no rapids here, but the current is very fast. Riding on Katun will add adrenaline to your blood. By boat, you can reach Kamyshlinsky waterfall.

On the left bank of the Katun River (opposite from the Chuya Highway) in a pine forest are the cottages of the Tsar’s Hunting hotel. These are cottages with panoramic windows on the high bank of the river. Walking around the hotel, among the huge pine trees and thickets of ferns, you feel that you are in the Altay taiga. Here you can ride horses along forest trails.

For hiking on the left bank of the river, there is a trail with a length of 2.3 kilometers. It leads from the pedestrian bridge to the Kamyshlinsky waterfall. Kamyshlinsky Waterfall is located on the Kamyshla River, 300 meters from the bank of the Katun River. There is a small cafe and wooden decking where you can walk to the waterfall to see it from above and below. Kamyshlinsky waterfall consists of two cascades with a total height of 12 meters. The waterfall can be reached on foot, and some go there by motor boat.
