Kerim Mamedbekov Street in Derbent is one of the city`s attractions. It stretches along the Northern Fortress Wall of Derbent. There is a wide pedestrian zone on the street, turned into an art space. Residents and guests of the city come here in the evening to have a good time.

Kerim Mamedbekov Street is located between Nizami Ganjavi Park and Drozhzhina Street. Its length is 750 meters. On this section of the street there are 10 of the 43 ancient fortress towers of the Northern Wall, built in the 6th century.

An archaeological site is located 170 meters from Nizami Ganjavi Park. It was found in 2013, when Kerim Mamedbekov Street was being reconstructed. Most likely, there was a Muslim burial complex of the 10th century. During the excavations, steles and stone slabs with inscriptions in Arabic were found. Also found here is a 10th-century water supply system: stone gutters for supplying water to the city, ceramic drainage pipes and water tanks.

This place is of archaeological value, so it was decided to preserve it. A large glass roof was built over it, and a glass bridge was erected in the center. In some guidebooks it is called the Crystal Bridge of Derbent. People can walk across the bridge to get a better look at the archaeological site and the details of the ancient waterway, which is more than 1000 years old.

City authorities, art designers and artists arrange various installations and art performances on Mamedbekov Street. They invariably attract residents and guests of Derbent. There are various benches, swings, mobile cafes. Artisans` shops are located along the street, where you can buy souvenirs.
