The maiden baths of Derbent are located in the historical building of the baths of the 13th century. The official name of this place is the Museum of Culture and Life of Ancient Derbent. It is located in the 7th Magal Street between the Juma Mosque (8th century) and the ancient gate of Orta Kala (6th century).

The Maiden Baths Museum is located in an ancient building, which is 3 meters below the modern urban development. Above it is an old Women`s bath (East), built in 1613. They were  used as baths until 1950. Then they were empty, and in 1992 a museum was opened here. In ancient Derbent, women and girls had to wash in different baths, but they were nearby.

To see the exposition, you need to go down to the basement. The atmosphere of the Maiden bathhouse has been recreated in three halls. Here you can see wax figures of girls who are resting in the cool room of the baths. In the center of this room there is a pool for washing feet before leaving the bath.

Nearby there is a room with pointed arches. This is a hall for washing of the body. Its ceiling is made in the form of a dome with a hole in the center. Sunlight enters the room through it. There is a swimming pool with warm water in this hall. Nearby there are a steam room, as well as a dressing room. It was not customary to go naked in the bathhouse itself, the girls wore red tunics.
