Lenin Garden is a small, cozy park near Cathedral Square in Arzamas. It was laid out in the early 20th century, during a period when Arzamas was actively developing as a cultural and administrative center. Initially, it was a small green area with a regular layout, intended for the recreation of the city`s residents. Among the flower beds and trees, paths were laid out, and benches were installed.

After the October Revolution of 1917, the garden was named in honor of Vladimir Lenin, the founder of the Soviet state. During the Soviet period, a monument to Lenin was installed here, but during the reconstruction of Lenin Garden, this sculpture was moved to another location. The park area is now called Monastery Garden, although the city`s residents still refer to it as Lenin Garden.

Around the central circle, where the monument to Lenin once stood, neat flower beds bloom, delighting visitors during the warm season. The garden`s paths are paved with tiles. Benches are also installed in the garden, where one can rest in the shade of the trees. From all the garden`s alleys, the domes of the churches towering over Cathedral Square are clearly visible. Near the garden, the Church of the Holy Virgin Mary "Life-Giving Spring" was built in 1792.

During the warm season, small cultural events and concerts are held in the garden. This makes it not only a place for relaxation but also a center of the city`s cultural life. Next to Lenin Garden, in a two-story 19th-century building, is the Arzamas Historical and Art Museum, where one can view exhibitions on the history of Arzamas.
