The Lost World Rock on Cape Tarkhankut is located 1.5 kilometers west of the Dolphinarium. Here the height of the rocks in some places exceeds 50 meters. In the Lost World there are no paths where you can go down to the water, as on the capes of Big Atlesh or Small Atlesh. Birds on the rocks near the water feel safe and nest here.
The starting point for excursions around Cape Tarkhankut is the parking lot near the dolphinarium on the Big Atlesh rock. You can park your car here. Most of the people walk along the rocky shore to the east, where the main attractions of Cape Tarkhankut are located: the Small Atlesh Rock, the Cup of Love and the Crocodile Rock.
To the Lost World Rock, you need to go west. There are dirt roads that are quite passable for any cars, but it is better to walk along the seashore on foot, since behind each rock there are beautiful views of the azure waters of the Black Sea.
In the Lost World at Cape Tarkhankut, you can see a beautiful rock. On its top stands a small stone mushroom, created by erosion and weathering. Until the beginning of summer, there are many bird nesting sites in these places and the air is filled with a wide variety of sounds, like in Jurassic Park. At this time, you really feel as if you are in a "Lost World".
In summer, a lot of tourists appear on Tarhanket. Motor boats float along the shore. Most of the boats sail from Olenevka. This is the nearest resort village to Cape Tarkhankut. The distance from the Tarkhankut lighthouse to the Lost World Rock is 4 kilometers. In summer, you can take a boat on Cape Big Atlesh at the Fishing camp Hotel.
