The main memorial exposition is located on the first floor of the Tchaikovsky house-museum in Klin. There were living rooms occupied by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Most personal items, manuscripts, and sheet music can be seen here.

The main room of the house is a study-living room. In the center of the room is a grand piano "Becker". It was presented to Tchaikovsky by a St. Petersburg firm of musical instruments. Peter Ilyich played it almost every evening, surrounded by guests or composing his new works. In the same room is the Tchaikovsky music library, which contains works by Beethoven, Schumann, Haydn, Dvorak. Twice a year, on May 7 (birthday) and November 6 (memorial day), Tchaikovsky`s works are played on his Grand piano. All great pianists are honored to take part in these events.

Tchaikovsky`s favorite composers were Glinka and Mozart. In his home in Klin, Tchaikovsky kept the complete works of Mozart. The library of books was no less large. Tchaikovsky especially loved Pushkin`s works. He directed musical works based on several of his novels.

Next to the living room is the bedroom, where the furniture and things used by Tchaikovsky are completely preserved. On the table is the sheet music of the 6th Symphony. There are his Slippers by the bed. The living room opens onto a round glass-enclosed balcony. Peter Ilyich was very fond of here to work on his compositions. Next are the rooms of his brother Modest Ilyich and nephew Vladimir Lvovich Davydov. They are located in a part of the house that was added later, because Modest Ilyich wanted to keep all the furniture of Tchaikovsky`s rooms intact.

On the first floor there is a room of the servant Alexey Ivanovich Safronov, where he lived with his family. There is also a large dining room where Pyotr Ilyich went down to dinner. A large portrait of Tchaikovsky in a carriage hangs at the entrance. This picture was taken in St. Petersburg after the triumphal concert, where the composer presented his Sixth Symphony. The Park at the Tchaikovsky house in Klin occupies more than a hectare. There is a carriage house next to the house.
