The largest port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea  can hardly be attributed to the sights of the city, however, if you come here, you will certainly see it, since it occupies most of the Tsemes Bay.

The port of Novorossiysk is actively developing. By 2017, 89 berths with a total length of 17 kilometers have been built here. The port`s capacity is more than 35 million tons of cargo per year. The port handles almost all types of cargo: grain, coal, mineral fertilizers, oil, timber, containers, and much more. It is the fifth in Europe in terms of turnover.

The city of Novorossiysk was founded by Admiral Serebryakov in 1938, but for several decades its role was more defensive. In 1888, a branch of the Vladikavkaz railway was brought here and from that moment a cargo port in Novorossiysk developed actively.

When you walk along the Serebryakov embankment on the Western shore of Tsemes Bay, all the terminals of the Novorossiysk port on the Eastern shore are visible at a glance. They are located at the foot of the Markhot mountain range of the Caucasus. However, this is not inconvenient. Tsemes Bay is very wide, so there is no noise or dust from the port in Novorossiysk.
