The promenade of Larnaca is 3 kilometers long from the Seaport to the Airport. On the waterfront is the castle of Larnaca, three beaches and many cafes and restaurants. In the evening, there are always a lot of tourists and residents of the city.
For most tourists, Larnaca is just the place where the airport is located. From here, they go to the beach resorts located in the area of Ayia Napa or Paphos. However, in the evening, you can also spend time on the Larnaca promenade.

In the northern part of the promenade is located the castle of Larnaca, built in 1625, during the Turkish rule. The castle is small, it looks more like a Fort. Previously, the same place was the castle of the crusaders. The promenade in Larnaca has divided in three parts: Finikoudes, Piale Pasha and Mackenzie.

The most famous part of the embankment is located between the castle of Larnaca and the seaport. This part of the embankment is called Finikoudes (Date’s) and its length is 700 meters. The embankment is very wide, with palm trees planted on both sides. It ends near the Seaport. In front of it you can see the City Hall and the monument to Zeno of Kition. He was a Greek stoic philosopher, originally from Larnaca. On the promenade Finikudes also installed the Venetian lion in memory of the reign of the Venetians in Cyprus in the 16th century.

In front of the Finikoudes promenade is the beach of the same name. It is different from the beaches of Ayia Napa. Because of the volcanic sand, the water does not always look clear, although the sea in the area of Larnaca is absolutely clear. It is also very shallow. For a full swim you will have to go about 50-70 meters from the shore.

From the fortress of Larnaca, the Piale Pasha embankment stretches to the west, but it is quite narrow and is fenced off from the busy road by glass. There is a fishing port in the middle of The Piale Pasha embankment. Early in the morning, there is a fish market where fishermen sell their catch.

Behind the fishing port begins the promenade and the beach of Kastela. Its length is about 400 meters. Mackenzie beach is located next to the airport. Here you can watch the planes that fly directly over your heads. There is no full-fledged embankment here, but in many places, there are beautiful wooden platforms.
