The area of Aia Piccola translates as "Little threshing floor". It is located on a nearby hill from the main urban area of Rione Monte. Aia Piccola is much smaller in size, and there are also much fewer tourists. There are almost no souvenir shops in these houses, and the town of Trullo remains the same as it was hundreds of years ago.
There are about 400 Trullo preserved in the area of Aia Piccola. There are small roads, but there is almost no traffic on them. This is really a residential quarter that has preserved its authenticity.
There is a beautiful garden at the foot of the hill where the Aia Piccola area is located. Nearby most beautiful Trullo are located. The walls of some of them are not whitewashed, but are lined with stones, as are the roofs.
