Sudzhuk spit in Novorossiysk is located in the very south of the West bank of Tsemes Bay. The Turkish fortress of Sujuk-Kale was located on this site. It gave the name to the spit, which is now the main recreational area of Novorossiysk.
In the Central part of Novorossiysk there are several beaches (Central, Neptune), however, the best beach is Aleksino, which is located on the Sudzhuk spit. It is located right at the exit of the Tsemes Bay, near the open part of the Black sea. Like all other beaches in Novorossiysk, Aleksino Beach is covered with fairly large pebbles, but it is flat, so it is comfortable to sunbathe on it.
The Sudzhuk spit consists of two overlapping strips of land covered with pebbles. The length of these strips is 800 meters. The spit ends in the open sea at Cape Sudzhuk. The width of the tip of the Cape is only 10 meters.
Inside this triangle formed a lagoon, which is called the Salt lake. Its area reaches 30 hectares. In some places the shores of the lake are overgrown with reeds, but you can swim here, as well as in the sea. Compared to the sea, the water here is warmer by several degrees, the entrance is very gentle.
Here you can see the sculpture of Gena Kozodoev, the hero of Andrey Mironov from the film the “Diamond hand”. This scene is from "fishing at the White rock", which was filmed near Tuapse near Kiselev Rock.
