One of the most famous Trullo in the Rione Monti area is Trullo Siamese. It consists of two separate Trullo, but under one roof. There are many connected roofs in Alberobello, but there is only one. It has the shape of an ellipse, as if two roofs are fused together.
Trullo Siamese is associated with the legend of two brothers, Antonio and Pasquale. It is quite possible that this is not a legend, but these events took place in reality. The brothers built two trullos for themselves on a solid stone foundation with a single roof.
They lived very amicably, helping each other in everything. Once both brothers fell in love with a girl and wooed her. The girl liked both brothers, but she was forced to choose one and chose the younger Pasquale. It is logical that the elder Antonio took offense at both of them. He did not come to their wedding, and as soon as the young couple came to live in their common Trullo, he immediately brought stone blocks and immured an inner passage between the Trullos, and for himself cut a separate entrance to another street.
