The trekking from the Third Company Ranger station to the Umpyr Ranger station is one of the most difficult on route nr. 8 in the Caucasus nature reserve. The trail still runs along the Malaya Laba river, however, there are many sharp ascents and descents at this crossing, which makes the road very difficult, given that the weight of the backpack at the beginning of the trekking is maximal.

In the Ranger station Umpyr the forest becomes a fir. There is high humidity, many stones and tree trunks are covered with moss. Sometimes this forest is called "Colchis". Umpyr Ranger station is located in a large valley sandwiched between the rocky slopes of the canyon of the river Malaya Laba. Bison live in this place, and work is being done to breed and study them. Tourist camp area for tents is located on a hill in the immediate vicinity of the Ranger station around Umpyr over the bridge across the river Achipsta. There is a sauna on the Ranger station.

The most beautiful place on the trekking between the Ranger stations of the Third Company and Umpyr is the canyon of the Malaya Laba river. This is the most difficult part of the path. About halfway up, the trail goes up sharply. As a result, tourists find themselves on a rocky platform above the river canyon. There are very beautiful views on both sides of the gorge. The height of the canyon exceeds 100 meters.
