Ascension Cathedral of Almaty

In the center of Almaty, among the greenery of the Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen, stands an amazing building that is hard to miss. Its bright colors — white, blue, and gold — attract attention from afar. This is the Ascension Cathedral (full name — the Cathedral of the Ascension of the Lord). It is one of the tallest wooden buildings in the world and, without a doubt, the main architectural symbol of Almaty.
