Independence Monument of Kazakhstan
The Independence Monument in Almaty on Republic Square was unveiled in 1996 to mark the fifth anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It became the first major monument dedicated to the new state and remains one of the city`s most recognizable symbols to this day.
