Dead City on Karadag

The Dead City is formed by the remains of rocks, some of which resemble figures of people and animals. The geographical name of the Dead City is the Khoba-Tepe Ridge. Here was the main crater of the Karadag volcano during its eruption about 150 million years ago. The best traces of the eruption and lava fields are visible from the sea. Just above sea level, the famous "Ear of Karadag" is visible.
