If you want to see the beauty of the spit, the place where the rivers Oka and Volga flow together, you should go to the Fedorovsky Embankment. Beginning on the high hill, near the Kanavinsky bridge, it stretches over the slopes of the Dyatlovsky Mountain and gullies to the Kremlin.
In the evening, almost in any weather, there are many citizens on the embankment – they stroll, communicate, get acquainted. There are several terraces at the foot of the monument of the writer Gorky. They are connected by stairways and passages.
At the bottom of the Fedorovsky Embankment is the district Zaipochaine, and its old houses and churches look very beautiful from the height of the Dyatlovsky Gory. And especially beautiful are the multi-colored domes of the Nativity church against the background of the wide river Volga.
On the Fedorovsky Embankment you can go almost as far as the Kremlin. From the slope of the high hill you can have a wonderful view on the wall of the Nizhniy Novgorod Kremlin and the church domes at its base.
