The Karagach mountain range is located on the southern slope of Karadag from the village of Kurortnoye. Here, on the slope of an ancient volcano, on the shore of the Black Sea, is the Karadag Biostation, where excursions to the Karadag Nature Reserve begin.
Excursions to Karadag are conducted accompanied by employees of the reserve. On the seashore next to the station is located the King and Queen Mountain, which is part of the Karagach ridge. It has an interesting layered structure. If you look at the top of this rock, then people with fantasy see that there is a "throne" on the sea side, the "king and queen" are descending down the slope to it, and behind them the "retinue" is crowding in a bow.
The lower part of the Karagach ridge is covered with deciduous forest. Not only hornbeams and beeches, traditional for the Crimean Mountains, but also oaks, chestnuts and other rare trees grow here. Many flowers and plants of Karadag are listed in the Red Book. Wild animals are also found here.
On the path that runs along the Karagach ridge towards the Dead City, you can see rocks that resemble mystical people and animals. Even more of these rocks are located in the Dead City.
