The Koktebel embankment stretches for 1.5 kilometers from the Kilova Mountain to the Nudist beach. The central part of the embankment where is the Voloshin House-Museum looks very beautiful, but part of the embankment still retains the features of the "Soviet era" and requires repair. Every evening there are a lot of people walking here, there are many cafes on the embankment.
From the north, Koktebel is bounded by Cape Chameleon, and from the south by Mount Karadag. These two natural attractions are visible from any point of the Koktebel Embankment. The pedestrian area of the embankment is fenced with a parapet and white columns. In many places, hotels are located right on the embankment, but this is not the best place to sleep, as there are many outdoor cafes with loud music that sounds until night.
Koktebel Beach stretches along the entire embankment. The sea in the resort is quite clean. The beaches of Koktebel are covered with pebbles, but in the sea the bottom is sandy, with a flat entrance. The water in Koktebel has a beautiful azure color.
There is a monument to the poet Maximilian Voloshin in front of the Voloshin House-Museum on the Koktebel Embankment. His head is raised up so that passers-by can make sure that the profile on Mount Karadag really looks like Voloshin`s profile.
From the Koktebel embankment, you can access numerous piers, where ships and boats are moored. Boat trips along the Karadag Nature Reserve are very popular in Koktebel. At first, the ship sails along the Kok-Kaya ridge. The Sphinx Rock (Devil`s Finger) is visible on its top, and at the end of the tour the ship sails to the famous Golden Gate, which is called one of the symbols of the Crimea.
