The pedestrian zone of Mirza Kazi-Bek Lane (Kazem-Bek) is called "The Street of Happy People". It starts near Suleiman Stalsky Park and stretches to Lenin Street. Its length is only 340 meters. A beautiful art space has been created in this alley, which invariably attracts residents of Derbent and guests of the city.

Reconstruction of Mirza Kazi-Bek Lane was made in 2019. It became completely pedestrian, tiles were laid here and all the houses were restored. There are many green spaces in Mirza Kazi Bek Lane. Gazebos and benches are installed where people can relax. There are many small cafes in the surrounding houses.

The idea to call this place "The Street of Happy People" is quite good. A monument dedicated to the Friendship of people was opened on the pavement of the lane. It depicts representatives of three faiths: Islam, Judaism and Christianity, who drink tea together.

The center of public life of Mirza Kazi-Bek Lane is the area between Lenin and Tagi-Zade Streets. There is a large Passage store here, as well as an Azerbaijani Drama Theater. In Soviet times, the “Homeland” cinema was located on this place. For decades, residents of Derbent have gathered around this cinema and the Passage store to discuss city news.

The Passage store is an architectural landmark of Derbent. The Passage building was laid in 1916, but due to the events of the Revolution and the Civil War, construction was delayed. It was completed only in 1926. Now there are shops selling souvenirs, carpets and other interesting things for tourists.
