The Pushkin Park is in the historical center of Saransk where the first fortress was erected in 1641. The city park was created on that place in 1864. Today it has an area of 40 hectares.

The most picturesque part of the park is on the banks of the river Saranka. The park is near the hill with the Cathedral of St. Theodore Ushakov and the Museum of Military and Labor Feat. A stair goes down from the memorial complex into the park. One can walk along the alleys on the bank of the river. A ferris wheel was also installed there.

The steles with the quotations from the works of A. S. Pushkin, as well as the sculptures of the characters from his fairy tales, are along the alleys at the park properly. The bust of Pushkin, at the entrance to the park, was made in the style of the works of a Mordovian sculptor S. Erzya. There are many amusement rides and cafes at the park.
