The world`s tallest skyscraper Burj Khalifa is quite rightly became the symbol of actively developing megalopolis Dubai. Its height is 828 meters and it is the tallest building, which have ever been erected on the Earth.

From the time when the first skyscrapers were built in New York in the 30th of the past century to 2007 the height of skyscrapers was in the range of 400 - 500 meters. And as a rule, a new skyscraper was higher than its predecessor only by several tens of meters (and then it was due to its antenna) and only the Ostankino Tower in Moscow and the CN Tower in Toronto were higher than 500 meters.

Before the Burj Khalifa the world`s tallest building was the Taipei 101, which was built in the capital of Taiwan, the city of Taipei, in 2003. It was 509 meters high. A year after the opening ceremony of the skyscraper in Taiwan they began to build the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Its superiority over its predecessor in Taiwan was more than convincing – it was almost twice as tall.

Burj Khalifa broke many various records in the area of building. And the main of them is that it is the tallest building that has ever been erected on the Earth. Before this record belonged to the Warsaw radio mast, which height reached 643 meters, and although it collapsed as a result of an error in exchanging the guy-wires on the highest stock in 1991, its record wasn’t beaten until the Burj Khalifa.

So, the height of the Burj Khalifa is 828 meters. It consists of 163 floors. Most of the floors are occupied by apartments and offices, and it is also the tallest hotel in the world. Besides the height record, there was also beaten the record of the height of concrete injection during the construction of the Burj Khalifa.

The observation deck where all tourists coming to Dubai want to get is on the 124th floor, at the height of 452 meters. If you plan to ascend the Burj Khalifa during your visit to Dubai, you should book the tickets over Internet 2-3 weeks in advance. Firstly, the price of the ticket will be no more than 30 dollars, and secondly, you can choose the most convenient time of ascent.

If you will buy the tickets just before the ascent, then there will certainly be no tickets for the next day or two days, and the price of available tickets will be over 100 dollars per head.

From the observation deck you can have a wonderful view of the Jumeirah District, as well as skyscrapers along the avenue of the Sheikh Zayed. At the foot of the Burj Khalifa the Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain are located. At a distance you can see the ship going on the Dubai Creek.
