The Garden of the 70th anniversary of the Krasnodar region is located on the Sukhum highway, at the entrance to Gelendzhik, from Novorossiysk side. Very beautiful installations from the life of the Cossacks were created here. In 2020, the construction of the largest Church in Gelendzhik, St. Andrew`s Cathedral, was completed here.
Sculptures and paintings placed on the alleys of the city garden of the 70th anniversary of the Krasnodar region introduce the culture and history of the Kuban Cossacks. Rare trees and flowers are also planted here, and benches are installed. In general, a very pleasant recreation area has been created here.
In 2020, the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Gelendzhik was built and consecrated near the Garden. It was laid down in 2014. The huge Cathedral stands on a hill above the city and is visible from many quarters. The Church is built in the architectural style of Vladimir-Suzdal churches, and is very similar to the Assumption Cathedral of Vladimir. The height of the five-domed temple reaches 45 meters. At the same time, up to 1.5 thousand parishioners can pray here. On the facades of the Cathedral are placed mosaic panels made by hand using Byzantine technology.
St. Andrew`s Park is located next to the Cathedral. Its layout is similar to the square of the 70th anniversary of the Krasnodar region. There are walking paths amongst the rare trees and flowers. In the center of the Park, there is a monument to St. Andrew the First-called.
