The Kazan museum of socialist culture is in Bauman Street, the immediate vicinity of the Bogoyavlenskaya bell tower and the Tukay Square. The museum may be interesting for all foreigners, as well as for the younger generation of Russian people.

The formation of this private museum began in the middle of the 90th of the past century when shops began to get rid of things, which surrounded the Soviet people for several decades. Later the museum collection was added with really museum exhibits – guitars and clothes of famous Soviet and then Russian musicians.

The museum collection increased and eventually the museum was moved to a spacious (200 square meters) room once shared by 20 people. The creators of the museum try to present it not as a «museum of old things» but as a «museum of positive emotions». And it must be acknowledged that they quite succeeded in it.
